The name Harvest Christian Centre reflects our passion to empower people to discover real life. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life - no one can come to God except through me". Now that's an amazing statement - one we believe is the absolute truth because we believe in the authenticity and accuracy of God's word, the bible. The bible has never been disproved, and is the most amazing book on the planet because it is the truth. Its truth is also extended in the life of millions of people world wide who have discovered Jesus personally. People are discovering a personal relationship with Jesus Christ at an amazing rate in just about every country across our world. Christianity is growing at about 31/2 times the population rate but the most important thing is you can discover Jesus personally and experience life the way it was meant to be lived through the life of Jesus Christ. This is the only pathway to real life and a life of true peace, happiness and abundance.
Help People Discover Jesus
The programme "Discover Jesus" is a multi-stepped program to help people assist others step into a powerful new life in Jesus.
We do this by
1. Praying for God to show you who to focus on to help discover Jesus. To partner with you in prayer for them and with others who will diligently prayer for you and those embarking on this journey of discovery with you. To encourage you to build genuine and lasting friendships with others so they will feel comfortable to connect with the family of God in a worship service or at a special meeting. e.g. mothers' day/Christmas day.
Once they have connected with the corporate family of God, the church, then to encourage you to share the greatest message of life and discovery any human being can every encounter.
If you don't feel comfortable sharing that message we can assist you with trained people who will sensitively and compassionately in a friendship setting over a coffee or a meal share the way they can discover Jesus. The greatest news any one can every hear. To encourage them to pray a prayer to God through the life giving sacrifice Jesus made for them to see them free from the bondage of sin and discover new life in Jesus. Next we have multiple programs and courses that they can get involved in to help them grow in their new found exciting life of purpose and meaning.

The first thing you need to remember to discover Jesus is
It's A - About you.
Romans 3:23 says, "everybody has sinned and fallen short of God's God." In other words none of us are perfect, everyone does things that don't measure up to the standards God requires of our lives. We lie, we sometimes attempt to cheat the system, our language is not always positive, we cut people down with our words. We don't always have the highest standard of integrity even in areas we know we should. We don't always forgive those who have wronged us. The list goes on and on if we'd be really honest about our lives and took the times to think about it no body's life would describe perfection or the very best motivations at all time and in every situation. So that's where the problem lies - it's about us. God's standards are perfection. Matthew 5:48 tells us that we should be perfect as God is perfect.
So since it's impossible to be perfect then our imperfect lives even the smallest inconsistency would disqualify us from being accepted by God and being eligible to spent eternity with God in heaven when we die. So discovering Jesus is firstly A is all about you.
Second its B - Because of God
It's because of God's nature because God is perfect that you are not good enough. The bible says none of us are perfect not even one. Matt 5:48 tells us that we should be perfect as God is perfect. Now God is a just God and because He is just He must punish our sin or imperfection. Exodus 34:7 says that God will not leave the guilty unpunished. But on the other hand God loves us so much that He doesn't want to punish us. I John 4:8 tells us God is love. In Jeremiah 31:3 God tells us that His love for us will never fail We discover Jesus because of God's nature because of who God is but this creates a problem for us. On the one hand God loves us so much that He doesn't want to punish us but on the other hand He must punish the wrong we all do through out the course of our lives because He is just.
The solution to the dilemma is
C Centred on Jesus.
Jesus must be the central figure in our lives. If we are to discover who he really is and what he has done for us and be free from the bondage of living our lives imperfectly. The pivotal question in discovering Jesus is who do you believe Jesus is.
Colossians 1:15 tells us when you look at Jesus you are actually looking at God. If you want to know what God is like all you need to do is to discover Jesus who lived a perfect and sinless life.
An equally important question in the discovery process is to ask what did Jesus do for us that is so important that they named all of human history after him. So that of all human history is C centred around Jesus and what he did. That we named history in his honour before (AD) and After Christ (BC). He died in your place to take the penalty of your sin and imperfection upon himself.
Isaiah 53:6 God laid on Jesus the iniquity sin and imperfection of us all. He also rose from the dead. Up to 500 people at one time witnessed to the fact of his resurrection and the power of His resurrection from the dead. He broke the power of sin and sins consequences which is death. Romans 6:23 tells us that the payment for sin is death.
Romans 6:9-11 that Jesus broke the power of death by being raised from the dead.
So Jesus died to take the penalty of your sin, break the power of sin over your life which is death and can now offer you the gift of eternal life.
Romans 6:23 for the payment of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.
So how do you make a decision to receive the free gift of eternal life ?
It's D - Decided by faith - the decision to receive that gift comes by faith. The free gift of eternal life is yours for the taking all you've got to do is make a decision to take it by faith.
So what is Faith?
Faith is simple really but what it is not is taking a blind leap in the dark.
Faith in the gift of eternal life through discovering Jesus is based on fact or truth you can live your life on, truth that will never pass away. Never go out of date or never lose it's power to change a persons life.
Faith is not just believing in something. We will never receive, the free gift of eternal life just because we know about Him. We need to know Him and be in a relationship with Jesus. Faith is not temporary. Faith in an emergency because we always just forget about that kind of faith after the event or until the next time we are in trouble - emergency faith will never lasts.
Faith in Jesus Christ is all about a decision you make to put your trust and reliance on Jesus Christ alone for eternal life with God and abundant, excellent life here on earth.
John 3:16 says God loved you so much that he gave his only son that if any made a decision to believe put their faith and trust in him completely they would not perish. But would live forever or have eternal life.
The decision you need to make is this do you want to place your trust and faith in God.
Do you want to receive the gift of eternal life and discover a relationship with Jesus a decision you will never regret.
What should I do to discover Jesus
So what does that mean, what do I need to do
What decision do you need to make in faith to discover Jesus
1. Transfer your trust from what you have been trusting in to what Jesus has done for you. Stop trusting in you alone and start trusting in a God who loves you and wants to make your life better by joining in a life long partnership with you.
2. Discover Jesus as the one who has saved you , the one who has taken your place by receiving himself the penalty of sin meant for you. Begin a personal relationship with him. Rev 3:20 tells us Jesus is like a guest knocking on the door of our heart. If anyone hears him calling to them and opens the door of their life he will come in and begin a relationship with them.
3. Hand over the control of your life to Jesus. Put Him in the driver's seat of your life not in the back seat. Make him the senior partner in this relationship and turn around from travelling the journey of life alone and begin to allow God to get involved in the decisions and directions of your life.
Be prepared to live your life his way not your way only. Have a desire to do things with your life that he wants you to do His will becomes important to you because you realise what he has done for you. Love Jesus every bit as much as he loves you. You'll want to do the things He wants you to do with your life. Not just what you want to do. Now if that's the decision you are making you can make it right now simply by praying a prayer or telling God what you have decided . You can decide to receive the free gift of God anywhere because it is with your heart that you decide to believe.
As a result of your decision to believe in Jesus you are justified (just as if you have never sinned) and with the confession of your mouth you are saved from sin Rom 10:10-13
Just do it
Why not make a decision to begin a relationship with Jesus right now and receive the free gift of eternal life - why wait a moment longer.
Just pray a prayer like this to receive God's gift of eternal life.
"Jesus I want to discover you in my life I know I am not perfect. I have sinned and deserve the penalty of sin. But I have made a decision to turn from my sin and believe in you that you died in my place to pay the penalty of my sin and to give me the gift of eternal life. Jesus come into my life I want to discover you and everything you offer me. I give you willingly the control of my life, forgive me of my sin and make my life clean. Help me start a brand new life through your power. I place my trust faith and hope in you. I accept the gift of eternal life and enter into a relationship with you. Help me discover more and more about you every day of my life."
If you just prayed that prayer and it something you really believe with your heart then whoever believes in Jesus has eternal life. John 6:47 If that's what you really decided by praying that prayer then welcome to God's family.
If you have truly given God control of your life and are deciding to turn away from sin's power over your life if you are now trusting in God's help and are really going to decide to place your faith in what Jesus did for you. Then you have received the gift of eternal life and you are now one of God's kids. Everyone who receives him those who believe in Him to them He gave the right to become the children of God. John 1:12
A great verse for you is 2 Cor 5:17. If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation the old is gone. The consequences of an imperfect life has past, everything has become new again. God gives you a brand new beginning.

What Now!
To help you develop in this new life and to assist the discovery process in your relationship with Jesus here are some practical things that will be essential in helping you along the way.
1. Read your bible.
Try starting with the book of John, make an attempt to read at least one chapter a day. It will really help you in your life with Jesus you will be amazed at the truth that can be found in God's word, truth that will help you grow.
2. Prayer.
Prayer is just talking to God. You can do that anywhere, as you are going off to sleep at night while driving in your car at work during thought pauses, while sitting at home relaxing or just walking along the beach anywhere really just do it.
3. Worship
find a great bible believing church like Harvest if you don't live close enough email us and we'll suggest one near to where you live. There is nothing like being with others that honour and give praise to God for all he's done in their lives and being in a supportive group of people who'll grow with you and who will help you grow. Ps 122:1 I got excited when they said to me "let's go into the house of God (the church)".
Don't forsake the assembling of yourselves together, make it a habit.4. Witness
Tell someone else of the decision you have made to trust in God with your life and the hope you have in God. Acts 1:8 says but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you'll be able to tell others about me in Jerusalem (or the place you live), Judea and Samaria (tell others who live in other places. You may even get the opportunity to tell people of other cultures and nations about him.
5. Friendships.
Make new friends with others who have discovered a relationship with Jesus in their lives who will partner with you in your development as a new Christian. 1 John 1:3 'we have told you about what we have seen and heard so that you also can have friendship with us and our fellowship with God and his son Jesus.
